2011 Seduction ReBoot: Back to School

by Matt Savage

Hey everybody, we're all gonna get laid!

Though it’s a little bit late for New Year’s resolutions, I thought I might take some time and write out my personal strategery plans for the year. To put it bluntly, this post is really for my own benefit, to get my thoughts written out in a more clear and somewhat organized fashion. However, please feel free to provide feedback and constructive criticism, particularly on the direction of this here blog.

Focus on Lifestyle Improvement

First, my desire to go out “sarging” has waned considerably and I consider this a positive step. I’ve written about drinking too much in the past and there was a point were I was going out 4-5 times a week to the bars and clubs. Of course, my intent was to pick-up women, but many times it simply turned into a night of getting drunk. As much as I savored those few moments where I’ve closed a girl at a bar, the amount of time and bodily health that was sacrificed was probably not worth it. That sort of lifestyle, as fun as it can be, can not be maintained in the long run. So I’ve scaled down to just one night out per week, if at all, and making the transition to simply trying to be a seductive charming guy in general rather than making a chore of it.

Second, I’m getting pretty sick of my 9 to 5 job and have been actively using my spare time to create some new income streams which will allow me to work from almost anywhere and begin to do some real travelling. I’m 31 years old now, and if there was ever a time to get on board the wanderlust train, it’s now. I’m not getting any younger and I just noticed a single strand of gray hair the other day… wtf.

Thrid, I’m getting myself in shape. As alluded to earlier, the previous years worth of going out drinking have taken a bit of a toll on my body. Not that I’m a lard ass or anything, I just have a bit of a protruding beer belly. And to combat this, I’ve been doing Tim Ferris’ Slow Carb Diet and kettle bell/perfect ass exercise, which he outlines in his new book 4-Hour Body (I’ll be doing a book review soon). By the way, I’ve already lost 8 Ibs in the last two weeks!

Fourth, I’ve resolved to do more reading this year, at least one book per month as opposed to the endless browsing of my recent addiction called Reddit. Seriously, that site is like crack, I can’t shake it. To be fair though, there is a lot of good stuff on there, including a thriving seduction sub-reddit. Regardless, I have some good books lined up, some dealing with seduction and lifestyle topics which I’ll be writing reviews for.

Fifth, I’ll be going back and working some more on the fundamentals of seduction. This will include more focus on general body language, voice exercises, eye contact and social conversation. In addition, I plan to delve into some personal research, such as some more material that supports my male masturbation hypothesis, along with some online dating and even pheromone experiments.

State of the Blog Address

My fellow Inter-nerds, the state of the blog is weak. It’s true that my posting has been sporadic but I’m planning on getting back to a regular schedule of at least one article per week. My goal is to publish each Monday morning which gives me the weekend to do my writing. It’s not that I don’t have anything to write about, I have a loonnnng list of post topics that I constantly add to, the problem is procrastination. It seems to be a matter of sitting down and getting some momentum.

Finally, for those regular readers, I’d love to get some feedback from you on what types of articles that you like and/or don’t like. I’m really looking for ways to move forward and improve the site, so any constructive criticism would be much appreciated.

You have a cool relateable writing style so I enjoy most of your posts. My favorite kind of articles you do usually have to do with interesting things that happen with your friends or when you talk to interesting people because thats what game seems to come down to: the ability to talk with anyone about anything.

Progress updates on hitting your goals and the actions you are taking to get them.

Thoughts on social game as they arise.

Looking forward to seeing more regular updates from you!

Great post, I agree on multiple points:

1. I recently left my 9-5 to work full time on the web – glad to hear you’re diversifying too, good luck!
2. Reddit is INCREDIBLY addictive.
3. Making regular updates to a blog is very very hard. It takes a lot of discipline.

Ceres,

Thanks for the feedback. Will definitely try to do more posts on my own personal progress on hitting whatever goals I set out for, though this will mean sticking with those goals, something I need to be better about.

Chris,

Yes, making regular updates is hard when you don’t make it a habit and as you can see, I’ve already missed my Monday deadline to post this week, opps… though should have my latest up tonight. Once I get on a role and make it a habit, it should become less difficult, I hope.

Missing deadlines is basically the only thing I do anymore. If it were a paid profession, I’d be a paid professional.

State of the blog: I’d like to see more posts on your perspective on pickup, the “community,” and how seduction evolves and changes as you age, ie you’re in your 30′s. What are you doing for women these days? Are you using your social skills in other arenas? How can those skills be leveraged beyond banging chicks? Additional tips and tricks are always welcome. Otherwise keep up the good work.

Hey we have all drank too much in our youth! I like to think it makes us better as we age. Glad you are getting your shit together.
