Most people think the creation myth led to the 7 day week that we have preserved, but there may be an underlying biological cause for that myth, which was known in ancient cultures and which is now being re-discovered, thanks in part to this forum. You might immediately think that sexuality and religion wouldn't be connected this way in judeo christian traditions but human sexuality was not a taboo subject in the west until St Augustine introduced manichaean beliefs about how evil sex is into christian dogma. It would be ironic if we men have been going about our 7 day week for the last millenium thinking that we were observing a religious calendar when in fact it was a way for ancient mesopotamians to keep a lid on their masturbation so they could have better chances of getting laid.
