I first became interested in seduction about six months ago when I began searching the web for ways to pick up women. I found some useful tidbits here and there but nothing that really hit home, until I came across a book review in the local paper for “The Game: Penetrating the Secret Society of Pickup Artists” by Neil Strauss. I was intrigued by the review and knew that this was exactly the book I was looking for. I quickly went out and bought it and read through the entire thing that night. The results: my entire thinking on the subject of women was turned upside down, it was earth shattering information. With this new found knowledge I knew that I needed to change my ways or continue living my typical lackluster love life.
Over the last six months I have been devouring every book, website, and message board post related to the art of picking up women. I must say that my whole understanding of seduction has greatly increased, however one thing still remains the same, I still cannot pick-up and seduce women. The reason I believe, is because of information overload. Though I’ve read tons on the subject, I have not really practiced and internalized any of it. Sure I’ve been incorporating some things into my lifestyle but nothing dramatic enough to make any real significant changes in my pick-up skills. It reminds of the movie “Karate Kid.” At first Daniel San tries learning karate by reading a book about it, but this doesn’t turn him into a karate machine until he falls under the tutaledge of Mr. Miyagi. Mr. Miyagi teaches Daniel the basics first and tells him to focus on those core concepts (ie. wax the car, paint the fence, etc.) It is not until Daniel San learns the basics of karate that he can become a skilled karate fighter in the end. There is lesson to be learned here and that is to begin with and focus on the basics.
In Seduction, the first and most basic step is the approach or “opener”. After looking back through the last six months of going out to the bars and attempting pick-up, there is one thing that I know I was severly lacking and that is opening women. Whenever I’d go out I’d only open up maybe one or two women at most. This is unacceptable, I should be opening at least five or more women per night, preferably at least 10! It is only until I can overcome the fear of approaching and begin talking to women that I will become a skilled pick up artist. So, in the next few days I will be creating a goal to help facilitate my seduction training in the basic art of approaching. Stay tuned.
